…hey, we all have to start somewhere!
From there, book reviews turned into news pieces, which turned into top 10 lists and race reports (national and international), and, in the years that followed, car reviews, in-depth articles and interviews. The momentum continued with more than a dozen different publications across three continents, and is still going strong to this day.

The PR and Marketing side of James’ writing career began with Awesome Group in 2012, and developed further with CREVENTIC from 2017, with James producing the vast majority of the Middle East publisher and Dutch promoter’s written media content. Press releases regarding regional launches and events, new products (commercial and lifestyle alike), and international race coverage has since become his bread and butter.
Alongside this, James has written scripts for numerous promotional marketing videos and educational documentaries, and added another string to his bow with aspirational speeches geared towards event launches and celebratory end-of-year engagements. A delicate but rewarding endeavour that continues opening doors to new ventures.

James has worked as an Deputy Editor, a Publishing Editor and an Editor-at-Large thus far in his career, roles that have required liaising with other content and copywriters, graphic designers and photographers, all while focusing on the bigger picture, namely his magazine’s flatplan and/or his website’s content calendar. A role that requires working with other writers to hone their skills, help develop their ideas, and, ultimately, adhere to a publication or agency’s high standards.
Being an Editor is a position that requires a huge amount of dedication. But, when the finished product lands on your desk, one that proves so worthwhile.

James has worked as a producer on several video shoots for regional agencies and manufacturers, as well as motoring-dedicated documentary films and hundreds of photoshoots. It’s a role that’s taken him from 3am night-shoots in Ras Al Khaimah’s mountain-range to sodden mid-afternoon shoots on-track in Texas, and even the Dubai Opera House with ‘Maestro’ Plácido Domingo and a Jaguar XE. You can throw in innumerable studio shoots on top of that too!
To be a producer lands the responsibilities of location, equipment and crew management, and intense scheduling on to one’s shoulders. It also offers a superb, and highly enjoyable, opportunity to work as a team and see another artist’s creative vision come to life.
